POLICY GUIDE FOR NATIONAL ANTI-CORRUPTION AUTHORITIES ON MEANINGFUL YOUTH ENGAGEMENT IN ANTI-CORRUPTION WORK |
UNODC is pleased to present its flagship youth empowerment policy guide, developed in partnership with the Independent Commission Against Corruption
The guide is aimed at assisting anti-corruption authorities in meaningfully engaging young people to support them in their anti-corruption efforts. It fills the gap between the intention of these agencies to engage with young people and the lack of guidance available on how to do so. The basis for developing this guide was the study of existing literature and the collection of primary qualitative and quantitative data.
Meaningful youth engagement in anti-corruption work is youth engagement that occurs under enabling conditions, whereby young people actively participate at different stages of an anti-corruption initiative, in collaboration with stakeholders, and which results in their empowerment and the promotion of anti-corruption outcomes.
The Guide, developed on a strong multi-stakeholder research base, inter alia key informant interviews (KIIs), focus group discussions (FGDs) and different surveys administered to multiple actors, from governments and civil society, offers a framework for anti-corruption authorities to understand challenges, opportunities and mostly the benefits of including young people in their work as co-leading partners whilst providing a clear guidance system on how to practically engage youth in a meaningful manner.
