Corruption and rule of law are part of the reality of our lives and affect us on a daily basis. People, and especially youth, are ever more concerned about these issues and, in response, UNODC has set out to develop and disseminate educational resources on these issues at the secondary education level. The resources are developed for teachers to educate on and for students (aged 13-18) to better understand some of the key issues surrounding corruption, the rule of law, and the importance of ethics and integrity in our societies.
The resources have been created by UNODC and a variety of partners, ranging from governments to academic and non-governmental organizations, as well as in partnership with UNESCO, and involving above all the ultimate target audience: teachers and students. They cater for different learning needs and contexts and include games, videos, in-classroom tools for teachers, as well as resources on Model United Nations to teach about corruption, crime, justice, and the rule of law.
The ongoing work under the GRACE initiative not only ensures that the young generation are equipped with valuable knowledge and skills, but it also strives to integrate and mainstream a gender-perspective in all its activities and resources.
GRACE educational materials will also provide support in education relating to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, in particular Goals 4, 5, 10 and 16.
